Two Palestinian women walk amid the rubble of a house demolished by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip town ofKhan Yunes 15 December 2003. Palestinian sources said that 18 houses had been completely destroyed andanother 13 partially destroyed during a six-hour Israeli army incursion which began around midnight. The Israeliarmy said in a statement that "IDF (Israeli Defense Force) forces demolished several abandoned structures thatwere used by Palestinian terrorist cells to launch mortar bombs and fire missiles" at nearby Jewish settlements.AFP PHOTO/ SAID KHATIB.
