INDIA-ANIMAL-LEOPARD
Recently born leopard cubs are fed milk from a bottle by a member of staff at the Assam State Zoo in Guwahati, 03 March 2006. The sixteen day old cubs were brought to the zoo in the Assamese state capital after being found by a forester in The Gaurang Reserve Forest, some 250 km north of Guwahati. Conservationists warn that at the present rate of attrition, with an estimated 1,000 poaching deaths every year, Leopards (Panthera pardus) could disappear from India by the end of the decade.
