FRANCE-HEALTH-FLU
Unconfined swan and pigeons are pictured on the Borely Park in Marseille, 07 March 2006, some fifty kilometers of Saint-Mitre-les-Remparts where a new case of the potentially deadly H5N1 bird flu strain was reported in this previously unaffected region. A wild swan found dead 28 February in Saint-Mitre-les-Ramparts was carrying the H5N1 strain of avian flu, the agricultural ministry said. The new case follow on the heels of nearly 30 other H5N1 cases which have been reported since a first outbreak was made public on 18 February. AFP PHOTO GERARD JULIEN
