IRAQ-UNREST-SECURITY-PRAYER
An Iraqi soldier secures an area near Sunni Abdel Kader al-Gilani mosque in central Baghdad, 10 March 2006 prior the start of Friday noon prayer. The US ambassador to Iraq has suggested that top Iraqi politicians hold a special conference, possibly abroad, to break the current stalemate over forming a coalition government, Time magazine reported today. Zalmay Khalilzad, who has been meeting with representatives from all factions, said he was hoping to persuade them to participate in a conference "possibly away from Baghdad, even away from Iraq" once they decide on the country-s next premier and parliament is convened.
