US-MARS-MRO-JUBILATION
Project manager James Graf (C) and scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) celebrate 10 March 2006 at JPL in Pasadena, California the successful beginning of the orbit incursion burn of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter as it enters Mars- orbit. NASA-s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, a spacecraft designed to examine the red planet in unprecedent detail from low orbit, sent its first signals to NASA-s Ground Controllers. The Orbiter-s signal will expand scientific understanding of Mars and pave the way for future robotic missions later this decade. AFP PHOTO/POOL/PHIL McCARTEN
