US-ATTACKS-WHOUSE-SECURITY
Members of the US Secret Service Technical Services Division prepare a robot to examine a "suspicious" on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House 22 March, 2006 in Washington, DC. A security alert was sounded at the White House after a suspicious package was found at a gate to the presidential residence. President George W. Bush was not at the White House, having left for West Virginia to give a speech on Iraq. Journalists working inside the White House were told not to go outside but US television channels showed images of a bomb-detecting robot moving toward the package outside the northern wall.
