US-AIR-CRASH-C5 GALAXY
This US Air Force file image received 03 April, 2006 shows the C-5 Galaxy aircraft. The gigantic C-5 Galaxy, with its tremendous payload capability, provides the Air Mobility Command intertheater airlift in support of United States national defense. A C-5 transport cargo plane carrying 17 people crashed early Monday shortly after takeoff from Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware, military officials said. The C-5, the air force-s largest transport plane, was carrying cargo to Ramstein Air Base in Germany when it crashed at 6:30 am (1030 GMT) after takeoff. The air force did not have an official casualty toll, and it was not known if any on board were killed or unaccounted for. AFP PHOTO/HO/US AIR FORCE/GETTY OUT
