(FILES) This 18 October, 2001 file photo shows CBS Anchor Dan Rather at a news conference at CBS studios in New York. The former anchorman Dan Rather has reached an agreement to leave CBS after 44 years, the network announced 20 June, 2006. The 74-year-old Rather, who has complained of being virtually forgotten at CBS Corp. since his exit as anchor last year, six months after a discredited story on President Bush-s military service, is considering an offer to do a weekly show at the HDNet high-definition network.
