French Foreign Trade Minister Christine Lagarde gives a press conference 29 June 2006 in Geneva during a WTO meeting. World Trade Organisation nations were on Thursday bracing for a new attempt to break a deadlock in negotiations on a treaty that would tear down barriers to global commerce.
