NETHERLANDS-POLITICS-LUBBERS-INFORMATEUR
Former Dutch Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers (L) leaves Noordeinde Palace in The Hague, 01 July 2006, after meeting with Queen Beatrix. Queen Beatrix appointed Lubbers to form a new government after the resignation of the centre-right government earlier this week. Lubbers will try to form a temporary minority government of his Christian Democrat CDA party with the rightwing liberal VVD, led by outgoing Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende (CDA), he told journalists after the meeting, and said he expects the elections to be in November.
