FRANCE-TRIAL-US-ATTACKS-GUANTANAMO
French defendant, Redouane Khalid (R), who was released from the US base in Guantanamo Bay, his lawyers Paul-Albert Iweins (L) and Dominique Many arrive at the Paris courthouse, 03 July 2006, for the trial on charges of allegedly being recruited to fight in Afghanistan. Khalid and co-defendants Khaled Ben Mustapha, Brahim Yadel, Mourad Benchellali, Imad Achab Kanouni and Nizar Sassi all face charges of "associating with criminals in relation to a terrorist enterprise." The latter two are also indicted on counterfeiting charges. All the suspects except Yadel, who remains in detention, were freed by French authorities in the months following their repatriation from Guantanamo in July 2004 and March 2005. AFP PHOTO JACK GUEZ
