MIDEAST-PALESTINIAN-ISRAEL-RAID-ARREST
An Israeli soldier stands guard as Palestinian woman Sherin Mohammed Abu Kamel, a member of the former ruling Fatah party, is blind folded and taken away, after she was arrested during a military raid into the holy city of the Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank 05 July 2006. Palestinian are detained and arrested on a daily basis during Israeli military raids into West Bank towns and villages as they look for Palestinians on their wanted lists. Some of those arrested are held under administrative detention, a procedure under which detainees are held without charge or trial. By the detention order, a detainee is given a specific term of detention. On or before the expiry of the term, the detention order is frequently renewed. This process can be continued indefinitely.
