GUATEMALA-HEALTH-COJOINED TWINS
Newborn cojoined twins Angela Corina and Angela Leticia are bathed at the Roosevelt Hospital in Guatemala City, July 5th, 2006. The twins, joined by their abdomen, where born in the department of Solola, 190 km west of the Guatemalan capital. They have been undergoing a series of tests to determine which organs they share, and specially how does their circulatory system works. This is the second case in the past five years that cojoind twins are born in this Central American country. In 2002 a set of Guatemalan twins who were joined by their heads were successfully separated in the United States at the age of one, though their recovery has been somewhat slow.
