Fast-rising flames follow a California Department of Forestry (CDF) firefighter using a drip torch to set a backfire to fight the Edgemont wildfire on 15 July 15, 2006 near Redlands, California. The Edgemont fire is the newest of a series threatening wildfires that are spreading with the help of triple-digit heat and low humidity that is gripping southern California.
