LEBANON-MIDEAST-US-EVACUATION
US evacuees are transported by a Landing Craft Utility (LCU) from Dbaiyeh to the USS Trenton anchored off the northern Beirut shores, 21 July 2006. The USS Trenton is due to evacuate some 1000 US nationals and dual passport holders from Beirut to Cyprus. Thousands of foreigners huddled in makeshift transit centres, weary but relieved, as governments around the world ramped up a mass evacuation from the raging conflict in Lebanon.
