Israeli soldiers rest outside a mobile artillery unit 22 July 2006 at a military staging area outside the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shemona. The Israeli military confirmed Saturday that its ground forces have been holding positions in two villages in southern Lebanon for several days. UN Interim Fiorce in Lebanon (UNIFIL) spokesman Milos Strugar said the two points were near the villages of Marwahin in the western sector and in Marun al-Ras in the central sector.
