FBL-ITA-JUSTICE-APPEAL
President of the Italian referees Association Tullio Lanese arrives at an hotel in downtown Rome, 22 July 2006. Four clubs from Italy's top Serie A began their appeals Saturday against stiff sentences for a match-fixing scandal handed down last week by a sports tribunal. Lawyers from Juventus, Lazio, Fiorentina -- all relegated to Italy's second division after the scandal -- and Milan, which has been banned from this season's Champions League, packed into a Rome hotel for the hearing. All four clubs also received a points deduction next season.
