MIDEAST-ISRAEL-LEBANON-UNREST-ARMY
An Israeli soldier cleans a barrel of a mobile artillery unit, 23 July 2006, at a military staging area outside northern town of Kiryat Shemona. The United States is expediting a shipment of precision bombs to Israel from an arms deal struck last year amid the Jewish state's ongoing assault on Lebanon, a US official said. The Europeans are trying to push the Jewish state into ending its massive blitz on Lebanon, which has killed more than 350 people in 12 days, most of them civilians, and destroyed key infrastructure across the country.
