MIDEAST-ISRAEL-LEBANON-UNREST-TROOPS
Israeli armoured vehicles are seen rolling across a hill towards the strategic hilltop village of Marun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon 23 July 2006, which Israeli troops seized control of sending tanks, bulldozers and armoured cars rolling across the border. Fighting began on July 12th when Lebanese based Hezbollah guerrillas and seized two soldiers and killed eight others igniting the bombardment of Lebanon by Israel. Around 360 Lebanese have been killed in Israel's massive blitz and a total of 37 Israelis have died, of which 20 are soldiers, in Hezbollah rocket attacks across northern Israel.
