The Turkish Football Federation on Sunday announced an investigation into allegations lagging first division club Denizlispor rigged a match to avoid relegation. "The TFF executive has decided to set up an impartial commission to inquire into these allegations." Denizlispor paid three Czech players from Malatyaspor, another club facing relegation to second division, to make their team lose the final match of the season on May 14, popular daily Hurriyet reported 21 July. Malatyaspor lost 1-0 to Gaziantepspor and was demoted, leaving Denizlispor in the first division.
