BRITAIN-MCCARTNEY-GUITAR-AUCTION
The first guitar that Paul McCartney ever touched is played by longtime friend Ian James during a press preview in London 26 July 2006. The Rex acousic guitar is expected to fetch over 140,000 euros (100,000 British pounds) when it goes under the hammer at Cooper Owen's Music Legends auction at Abbey Road Studios 28 July 2006. The guitar is owned by McCartney's school friend Ian James, who taught the former Beatle his first chords in his back garden in Liverpool in 1957 when he was 15-years-old. AFP PHOTO ADRIAN DENNIS
