A US Marine directs US nationals fleeing Lebanon before they board a ferry chartered by the US government to evacuate people from the war-torn country, 28 July 2006 at Beirut's port. Israeli planes blasted south Lebanon for a 17th day today the military mobilised thousands more reservists for the battle that the Jewish state's main backers, the United States and Britain, were to discuss at the White House.
