This handout IKONOS satellite photo received 04 August 2006, courtesy Geoeye shows a 'pre and post bombing' imagery from two IKONOS satellite collects. The 'before' IKONOS image was taken on 12 July, 2006 and the 'after' IKONOS image was taken on 31 July, 2006. All images were taken from 423 miles (680.7 kilometers) in space as the IKONOS satellite moved from north to south over the Middle East at 17,000 mph (27358.8 kilometers). You can see hunks taken out of a highway, debris on streets and a noticeable number of 'fewer' buildings. The Beirut Municipality Stadium is in the upper left hand corner. It is about 2.17 miles (3.5 Kilometers) directly north of the Airport and about 2.17 miles (3.5 kilometers) southeast of Central Beirut.
