BELGIUM-ITALY-DISASTER-COMMEMORATION
Partial view on the site, in Bois du Cazier, near Charleroi, 08 August 2006, where a commemoration ceremony took place, marking the 50th anniversary of the Bois du Cazier disaster that killed 262 people in Marcinelle. Several thousand people, some coming from as far as Poland and Algeria, took part in the ceremonies. Only about a dozen miners survived the tragedy.
