Picture taken 30 March 2006 shows A passenger aircraft from Germany's national carrier Lufthansa taking off close to an aircraft from German discount airlines Air Berlin at Berlin-Tegel airport 16 March 2005. Air Berlin, Europe's number three low-cost carrier, said in a statement 17 August 2006 it had acquired 100 percent of German low-cost carrier DBA's shares for around 50 million euros (64 million dollars). Together, the two companies expect to carry around 20 million passengers, they said, Air Berlin has a fleet of 58, DBA of 29 aircraft.
