John Mark Karr, suspected in the 1996 murder of six-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramesy, will not be charged in the case, his attorney said 28 August 2006. "The warrant on Mr. Karr has been dropped by the district attorney," Karr's lawyer Seth Temin told reporters. "They are not proceeding with this case. We are deeply distressed by the fact that they took this man and dragged him here from Bangkok, Thailand with no forensic evidence confirming the allegations against him and no supporting factors leading to a presumption that he did anything wrong," he said.
