LEBANON-MIDEAST-CONFLICT-IRAN
Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora (L) receives Iranian Vice-President Ali Saidloo in Beirut, 29 August 2006. Saidloo arrived in Beirut to offer Tehran's help in rebuilding Lebanon following the devastating Israeli offensive. Iran is the main backer of the Lebanese Shiite militant Hezbollah which has started to distribute cash donations to families whose homes were destroyed by the Israeli onslaught. Israel launched the 34-day offensive after Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers on July 12 to force a prisoners' exchange. AFP PHOTO/HAITHAM MUSSAWI
