Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas gestures as he addresses a crowd of demonstrators at the Palestinian Authority headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah, 30 August 2006. Workers from a cross section of trade unions representing Palestinian Authority employees marched to the PA headquarters to demand their salaries.
