INDIA-KASHMIR-WEATHER-FLOOD
Kashmiri Muslim villagers carry pots for drinking water as flash floods have polluted water reserviors in the region at a flooded village in Pulwama, some 45kms south of Srinagar, 05 September 2006. Two women died in a house collapse and a landslide triggered by the heaviest rains in 25 years in Indian Kashmir as troops rushed supplies to people cut off by floods. The heavy rains have closed highways and link roads as rivers swelled above danger marks submerging low-lying areas in the summer capital Srinagar and villages in the surrounding Kashmir Valley forcing schools and businesses to shut, police said.
