PERU-ANDEAN CONDORS
A male condor named "Inca" is loosed on the top of a hill at the Center for the Repopulation of Andean Condors managed by the San Antonio de Abad University of Cusco, Peru, August 19, 2006. The project works on the repopulation of condors -which is in danger of extinction- in these indigenous community located at the Peruvian south andean departament of Cusco. The repopulation started with a pair of male and female breeded in the Konrad Lorenz Instirute of Vienna, Austria. They were trained and brought to Peru by the foundation of late paraglide flier recordman and scientist, Italian Angelo d'Arrigo, on last July 2006, but they can't complete their introduction into wildlife due to a lack on funds.
