Swedish Prime Minister and Social democratic leader Goran Persson meets the press outside his residence in Stockholm, 18 September 2006. Outgoing Prime Minister Goeran Persson, who at 57 served as head of government for 10 years, was expected to submit his government's resignation to the speaker of parliament on Monday, though he will remain in a caretaker role until the centre-right takes power.
