GERMANY-EU-TERRA SAR X-SATELLITE-EADS
Engineers and technicians of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) and IABG, an European technology and science service provider, prepare the new earth observation satellite TerraSAR-X for a test at the IBAG space center, in southern Germany's Ottobrunn, near Munich, 18 September 2006. The satellite, operating in X-band measures and weighing about a ton, is expected to be send to the space at the end of October 2006 from the Russian space station Baikonur. TerraSAR-X will circle the earth at an altitude of 514 kilometres and, operating regardless of weather conditions, it will be capable of supplying radar data with a resolution of up to one meter.
