ROMANIA-FRANCOPHONIE-SUMMIT
Latvia's President Vaira Vike-Freiberga (L) is welcomed by the Romanian President Traian Basescu (R) in Bucharest, 28 September 2006 at start of the 11th summit of the International Francophone Organisation (OIF). A two-day summit of French-speaking nations being held for the first time in an eastern European country will centre on new communications technologies and education, and stress the need for a multicultural conception of the world.
