EL SALVADOR-CHAPARRASTIQUE VOLCANO
A peasant observes the Chaparrastique volcano next to the Catholic church in Las Placitas, Department of San Miguel, El Salvador, 134 km east from the capital, 14 October 2006. Authorities are keeping the area under alert after registering an increasement in the volcanic activity. People live in fear and resignation under the menace of a violent eruption.
