BRITAIN-EU-ATTACKS-IMMIGRATION-CRIME-G6
British Home Secretary John Reid gives a television interview in front of the Ettington Park hotel in Stratford Upon Avon, in Warwickshire, in southern England, 25 October 2006. Ministers from the European Union's six largest states began arriving here Wednesday for talks on thwarting fresh terrorist attacks and fighting extremist ideas. Both topics -- timely because of recent attacks on Britain and Spain and a wide-ranging debate about Muslim integration -- are first up on the agenda when the informal talks get under way from 4:00 pm (1500 GMT). The two-day conference, at a neo-Gothic mansion hotel near the birthplace of England's most famous dramatist, William Shakespeare, will also focus on how to curb illegal immigration and organised crime.
