NIGER-CHAD-POLITICS
Arab normad Moktar Asabala displays his valid resident permit despite threat of ejection by the Nigeriene authorities at his N'Gortogole camp 27 October, 2006. Niger has began the expulsion of nearly 100,000 normadic Mahamid Arabs, illegal immigrants, to neighbouring Chad following constant clashes between the community and the locals in the border region of Diffa. But a government source said that the authorities would halt further expulson of the immigrants following pressure from neighbouring countries sharing borders with it.AFP PHOTO
