Manfred Stohl of Austria takes his Peugoet through the water during special stage 12 at Bannister, Leg 2 of Rally Australia, near Perth 28 October 2006. Finland's Mikki Hirvonen extended his lead in Rally Australia, boosting Ford's chances of claiming the manufacturers' title for the season. After five stages of the second leg, Hirvonen held a commanding 26.4 second lead over Norway's Petter Solberg in a Subaru, with Austrian Manfred Stohl (Peugeot) more than a minute back in third.
