PHILIPPINES-POLITICS-DISAPPEARANCE
Ligaya Portajada touches the picture of her missing husband Armando Portajada -an activist who disappeard 31 July 1987- during a memorial marking the All Saints' Day at the Roman Catholic Redemptorist church in Manila, 02 November 2006, staged for the victims of involuntary disappearance. The organization Families of Victims of Involuntary Disappearance said in a report that there were 1,981 victims of involuntary disappearance from the 1970's during the regime of late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Corazon Aquino, Fidel Ramos, Joseph Estrada to current President Gloria Arroyo.
