Police keep watch over Nairobi's Mathare slum following overnight clashes 07, November 2006 between rival gangs that left five people dead. Vicious gang battles between youths allied to the infamous, outlawed 'Mungiiki' sect and another known as 'Taliban' over control of the shantytowns thriving moonshine trade saw at least two shot dead by police and three others hacked to death.
