Supermarket chain Delhaize said Thursday its net profit was more than halved in the third quarter mainly due to its Czech business, which the Belgian group decided to sell. Net profit tumbled to 45.3 million euros (57.9 million dollars) in the third quarter compared to 89.7 million euros in the same quarter of 2005, the company said in a statement.
