A Sales assistant brings clothes in a low-cost fashion giant Hennes and Mauritz's (H&M) store in Paris, 09 November 2006, as the group open today his latest collection of affordable haute couture created by Dutch design duo Viktor and Rolf. In November 2004, the retailer launched the concept in style with a line of clothing designed by Chanel fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld. The idea proved an immediate commercial hit and a year later H&M repeated the success with a more casual collection created by trendy British designer Stella McCartney. While the previous two years' designers were household names, Viktor and Rolf are however relative unknowns outside the fashion world. AFP PHOTO PIERRE VERDY
