NETHERLANDS-COASTAL MAINTENANCE-ECOBEACH
A man uses a meter to determine where a special truck will place vertical drainage pipes on the Egmond aan Zee beach, The Netherlands, 13 November 2006. The new method preserving the coast is being tested, and is called Ecobeach. It is an innovative system which ensures a wider and dryer beach in order for the sand carried in by sea to be stored better.
