US automaker General Motors Senior Design Director Europe, Anthony Lo, presents the Saab Aero X sports coupe concept vehicle during GM Designers' Night in Beijing 17 November 2006. GM expects China to become an important export base toward emerging markets for it and other manufacturers, as GM with other US and European automakers, has been laying off workers and cutting production costs at home, and looking to expand in countries where markets are growing and labor costs lower.
