SOMALIA-WEATHER-FLOOD

This UNOSAT handout satellite image dated 20 November 2006 shows a map illustrating in yellow areas likely covered with standing flood waters and exposed soils that are saturated with water over the flood-affected districts of Jamame & Jilib, Middle & Lower Juba Province, in Somalia. Thousands of Somalis refugees made homeless by raging waters at UN camps in flood-hit northest Kenya have begun trudging to higher ground as their numbers grow, the United Nations said Tuesday. As torrential rains continue to pound the region, it said the death toll from the floods at its Dadaab refugee camp complex had risen from two to three, with three children reported missing at the weekend.
