SERBIA-DJINDJIC-ASSASSINATION-TRIAL

Dejan "Bugsy" Milenkovic (C), a former member of the so-called Zemun Gang and key witness in the investigation of the assassination of the late Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, is shown in court in Belgrade in this March 10, 2005 file photo. Two senior Serbian politicians knew of a plot to kill reformist prime minister Zoran Djindjic, a former gang member told a court 23 November 2006 in a trial on the assassination more than three years ago. Milenkovic, 36, is one of 13 people charged with making several attempts to murder Djindjic, who was shot dead by a sniper outside the Serbian government building on March 12, 2003.
Nebojsa Covic, a deputy prime minister in Djindjic's government, and Vojislav Seselj, the leader of the ultra-nationalist Serbian Radical Party, were aware of the assassination plans, said Dejan "Bugsy" Milenkovic. AFP PHOTO / STR
