BRITAIN-SEX-MURDERS-SUSPECTS
A police officer stands guard outside the home of supermarket worker Tom Stephens in Trimley, a small village near Felixstowe, in Suffolk, 18 December 2006. British police arrested a 37-year-old man Monday suspected of murdering five prostitutes in a high-profile serial-killer case that gripping the nation for weeks. The suspect, identified by media reports as local supermarket worker Tom Stephens, was arrested at his home in Trimley, a few miles outside the port town of Ipswich, said Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull. Police have refused to name the man they arrested, but at the weekend he gave a newspaper interview in which he insisted he was innocent but admitted not being able to explain where he was at the times of the killings.
