Iraqis shop for artificial Christmas trees for sale in the central Baghdad shopping district of Karrada, 23 December 2006. In the build-up to Christmas in Iraq, very few tree stalls were to be found in the normally bustling downtown area and shops are instead stocking artificial trees, as the country's sectarian war has virtually put an end to Muslim farmers from Baghdad's outskirts coming to sell Christmas trees to the area's large Christian community.
