GABON-VOTE-DEMO
Supporters of the Union of the Gabonese People (UPG) party led by Pierre Mamboundou demonstrate in the center of Libreville 23 December 2006. Gabon's main opposition party accused the party of President Omar Bongo Ondimba, which won a comfortable victory in last weekend's parliamentary elections, of an "electoral hold up". "Once again, the government showed with this vote its incapacity to organise a free and transparent election in this country," said Richard Moulomba Mombo, secretary general of the UPG.
