HUNGARY-EXHIBITION-PAINTER HAVADTOY
London born Hungarian artist and companion of Yoko Ono for 20 years, Sam Havadtoy, poses in front a piece of his 41 chessboard new series 'The Game' in the OSA Centralis Gallery of Budapest, 31 December 2006. The word-famous painter was inspired for his new collection by the forty-one moves of the last world championship chess match final between US Bobby Fischer and Soviet Boris Spassky in 1972, which turned the chessboard into a battlefield where Democracy and Communism mustered their opposing forces. The exhibition of Euro-American representative of visual arts opened on New Year's Eve. AFP PHOTO / ATTILA KISBENEDEK
