Azerbaijan announced 08 January 2007 that it had stopped exporting oil to Russia following a gas pricing dispute with Russian gas giant Gazprom. The Azeri state oil firm SOCAR stopped its deliveries to Russia via the Baku-Novorossiisk pipeline on January 1, the company's export chief, Mukhtar Babayev, told AFP.
